History of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Al-Aqsa Mosque is bound to the Isra and Mi’raj and to enduring Islamic sanctity, and also to successive layers of building that preserved and restored its landmarks—from Umayyad works at the Dome of the Rock, to later restorations, to modern stations including the 1969 fire in the Qibli prayer hall.
The Academy avoids reducing history to a single narrative and offers clear entries that can be expanded through research. Precise area figures are not inserted without a stated source.
